The Catching Legend in Cleveland, Sandy Alomar Jr. Will be Joining the Tribe's Coaching Staff as First Base Coach.

It is being reported by Anthony Castrovince on and his CastroTurf blog that Sandy Alomar Jr is being placed on new Head Coach, Many Acta’s staff as a first base coach. It is amazing to hear that Sandy is returning to the Tribe and is back in the red, white and blue. It has been several years since he retired and became a coach and I personally, am ecstatic to have him back. I think because of his history with the team and his past as a player will help the up and coming youngsters grow tremendously, and you cannot count out the influence he will most likely have on study Catching prospect Carlos Santana when he finally is brought up to the bigs. Alomar is yet another great addition to what is turning out to look like a very stellar coaching staff.

As the Indians and new coach Acta continue to round out the coaching staff, we will have more to say. In addition to Alomar and pitching coach Tim Belcher, they have added three other coaches. These coaches are, Tim Tolman at Bench Coach, Steve Smith at third base and Scott Radinsky, who will take over the Bullpen coaching duties. Radinsky’s name will be familiar to you because he has been the AAA Pitching Coach at the Columbus Clippers the past 3 seasons. Tim Tolman might also be familiar to some, he served as a third base coach for Acta when he was in Washington and served as minor league Field Coordinator for the tribe from 2003 to 2006.
