The Tribe had a busy day yesterday. They signed 4 guys to minor league deals.
– Jason Grilli – The veteran righty reliever split the year last year between Colorado and Texas with a ERA of 5.32. He throws pretty hard and has experience as a back of the bullpen type of arm, both with Colorado and Detroit. In 2008 with the Rockies he had a 2.93 ERA.
– Brian Buscher – 3B/1B, played with Minnesota the past few years. Will be 29 this coming season and will probably be in the minors this year but adds some depth to the organization and can come up and help out if there is injuries or if Andy Marte struggles.
– Luis Rodriguez – SS/2B, played with San Diego the past 2 years. He is a pretty light hitter but plays solid defense. He will be 28 in 2010, and could be in contention for the utility job if he performs better then Jason Donald.
– Mike Gosling – RP, a familiar name for us Tribe fans. He was one of the many relievers who came through the bullpen carousel in 2009. He had an ERA over 5 in his time up in the MLB, and will most likely just be in AAA this year and come up to help out if the bullpen struggles
That is it for now, these 4 are the first 4 the Tribe has signed this offseason. Along with the trade of Kelly Shoppach we have made 5 moves. There will be more to come, no idea what though. The information is via Yahoo! Sports. I know it is nothing exciting, but it is some action and it might be as hot as it gets this winter for the Tribe
