Weekend Series Preview

With the 2-1 Tribe riding high after an extra innings series clincher against the ChiSox, the team should be full of confidence heading into the second series of the season against the 2-1 Detroit Tigers. It should be a good series with predicted starters for each of the games being:

Part of the most enthusiastic early season high five line so far this year and Saves leader so far for the Tribe, Chris Perez.

Game 1: Friday 1:05 PM
David Huff vs. Rick Porcello
Game 2: Saturday 1:05 PM
Mitch Talbot vs. Jeremy Bonderman
Game 3: Sunday 1:05 PM
Jake Westbrook vs. Justin Verlander

Given the projected starters and the hope that the offense keeps getting hot the Tribe have a good shot at at least 2 wins on the road in this series against a major divisional rival.

Knowing that The Faust will not be pitching this series we can expect all 3 games to be caught by the Indians World Series Winner (technically) Lou Marson. After a rough couple of games for the 3 and 4 spots at the plate we can hope for Choo and Pronk to be looking to provide some power for the Homer-less Tribe.

After 2 solid outings and Saves from Chris Perez (a total higher than Kerry Wood had for the whole year last year isn’t it?) the bullpen looks like it may have 1 or 2 bright spots to rely on this year, but its still far too early to really tell.
