After last week the scores stand at 10-7 in favor of Zach. For those of you who follow our picks competition, you already know what is at stake, but for those of you who do not know, the winner of our picks competition at the end of the season, will get to choose any player off of the others squad in our fantasy football keeper league, and the winner will get to slap the loser to magnify the embarrassment of the loss. (An idea we got from How I Met Your Mother, which is the best show ever, by the way) But that is enough for now, lets get down to the Week 2 Picks:
Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) @ Tennessee Titans (1-0)
Dustin – Titans, The Titans looked good, and last week the Steelers seemed to get pretty lucky, what with Matt Ryan turning out to not be that good and all.
Zach -Titans. I see the Dennis Dixon show in Pittsburgh running out of steam and Chris Johnson notching his 13th straight 100 yard game.
Baltimore Ravens (1-0) @ Cincinnati Bengals (0-1)
D – Ravens. Even with a weaker set of DB’s the strength of the Ravens front 7 will be too much for Palmer and the T.OCHO SHOW. (I Love that nickname)
Z- Ravens. Not that the Jet’s offense was really a big test for the Ravens defense, they were dominant. It will come down to which QB, Flacco or Palmer, can exploit the few weaknesses in the opposing team’s defense. The Bengals were lit up by the Patriots for 38 last week, so they are prone to scoring.
Philadelphia Eagles (0-1) @ Detroit Lions (0-1)
D – Eagles. I would have gone with the Lions, but after the way the Eagles played with Vick behind center, they look like a real team, and I think they handle the Lions. BTW, Lions should have won against the Bears, it was a catch.
Z- Eagles. Michael Vick is looking to establish himself in the league once again, and the poor Lions are going to get Vicked. I don’t think the young Lions team can rebound after last week’s heartbreak and it will set the tone for their season.
Arizona Cardinals (1-0) @ Atlanta Falcons (0-1)
D – Falcons. Even after the Cards won last week, I still can’t pick a team whose starting QB is DA. I just can’t do it.
Z – Falcons. Not much parity here yet. Cardinals will be once again be led by Derek Anderson. Last week they won against a really bad team, and the Falcons are not quite as bad as the Rams.
Miami Dolphins (1-0) @ Minnesota Vikings (0-1)
D – Vikings. They looked bad, really bad against the Saints, but, the ‘Phins are not as good and won’t be able to stop Favres Vikings.
Z – Dolphins. This will be a great game. Two strong teams trying to get their seasons in the right direction. The Dolphins struggled against the Bills, but I think they will play strong against the strong Vikings unit and come out with a win.
Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) @ Cleveland Browns (0-1)
D – Browns. The Chiefs were extremely lucky, and since they are playing a team that actually HAS special teams I don’t think they will be anywhere near as effective. Go Browns!
Z – Chiefs. I hate to start picking against the Browns already, but I have to. I hope they prove me wrong, but if last week’s piss-poor second half was any indication of how this team will play, the Chiefs will win this game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) @ Carolina Panthers (0-1)
D – Panthers. The Panthers hit the wall last week, but their running game will likely take the Bucs to the woodshed in this one.
Z – Buccaneers. Call me stupid, but I think they will beat the Panthers. They might not even have their new starter Matt Moore, and I think the Buccaneers will pull another one out.
Buffalo Bills (0-1) @ Green Bay Packers (1-0)
D – Packers. Do I even need to explain?
Z – Packers. Similar reasoning to Dustin.
Chicago Bears (1-0) @ Dallas Cowboys (0-1)
D – Cowboys. The Cowboys will be out looking for revenge, and Da Bears were made to look much better than they are last week.
Z – Cowboys. Not only do they NEED to win this game, but they will. A must win game early in the year for the Cowboys as they look to keep pace in the tough NFC East.
Seattle Seahawks (1-0) @ Denver Broncos (0-1)
D – Broncos. The Seahawks caught the 49ers by surprise but the Broncos should be ready for them this week.
Z – Seahawks. Seattle looked so good last week, so surprisingly good. The Broncos not so much. I don’t buy the Broncos as a winning team this year, they have a lot of guys who need to prove they are capable. The Seahawks have the leadership of a proven winner in Matt Haselbeck and apparently better weapons than many thought they did.
St. Louis Rams (0-1) @ Oakland Raiders (0-1)
D – Raiders. Jason Campbell will lead this Raiders team to victory against a team that will continue to overthrow the ball and neglect Jackson. And it will cost them
Z – Raiders. Bradford will not be able to overcome the Raiders in week 2.
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) @ San Diego Chargers (0-1)
D – Jaguars. The Chargers looked weak against the Chiefs, and I like the Jaguars to run well against them, MoJo will go for 150 plus in this one.
Z – Chargers. They are slow starters but I think at home this weekend they get their season moving against the Jags.
New England Patriots (1-0) @ New York Jets (0-1)
D – Patriots. Jets look a little shaken by the loss, and the Pats looked really good against the Bengals. Brady will have a field day throwing to all the receivers that aren’t covered by Revis.
Z – Patriots. The Jets need this win much more than the Patriots do, not only to get their season going but to prove they are contenders and not pretenders. The Patriots though, have a little too much firepower for even the Jets to stop.
Houston Texans (1-0) @ Washington Redskins (1-0)
D – Texans. Foster won’t run for quite as many yards, but look for the ‘Skins to get punched in the mouth at home.
Z- Texans. After Arian Foster dominated the Colts bad run defense, look for much of the same against the Redskins.
New York Giants (1-0) @ Indianapolis Colts (0-1)
D – Colts. Peyton will win the “Battle Of The Mannings” and bring his team back up to .500.
Z – Colts. Peyton will beat his little brother in the regular season yet again, and after having the Texans knock them around last week the Colts need the W.
New Orleans Saints @ San Francisco 49ers
D – Saints. The Niners will be better than last week, but it won’t be enough to beat the Super Bowl Champs. After this one look for the 49ers to really step their game up.
Z – WHO DAT. Sorry, a little excited for the Saints. They are my bandwagon team every year after the Browns fail, so clearly Brees’ boys are my pick to win this Monday night matchup and put the 49ers in an early hole.
