NFL Weekly Picks – Week 8

Week 8 is gonna be a big week of games. Team’s are starting to get desperate for the playoffs and some are switching gears to focus on building for next season. I’m still kicking Dustin’s butt, so we’ll see how this week shakes out.

Buffalo Bills (0-6) @ Kansas City Chiefs (4-2)

Zach – Chiefs. Bills are really struggling, and after blowing what should have been an easy win (based on the score) over the Ravens, I think they are in for a 1 or 0 win season.

Dustin – Kansas City. They were good last week, and have a gift this week, at home against the only winless team.

Caolina Panthers (1-5) @ St Louis Rams (3-4)

Z – Rams. Panthers are one of the better bad teams, but I think Bradford torches them this weekend.

D – St. Louis. They have the defensive capabilities to hold Moore/Clausen to another bad week. Only question is if they can stop the Williams/Stewart combo.

Denver Broncos (2-5) @ San Francisco 49ers (1-6)

Z – Broncos. I think they get back on track a little this week against the Niners who lost to a team the really should have beat last week.

D – San Francisco. 49ers need to win this week, and at home I think they can pull out a 2nd win of the year.

Washington Redskins (4-3) @ Detroit Lions (1-5)

Z – Redskins. Those, this is usually a trap for them the past few  years. Detroit seems always able to beat the ‘Skins.

D – Washington. The Redskins, even without Portis are just a better team than the Lions.

Green Bay Packers (4-3) @ New York Jets (5-1)

Z – Packers. They need the win more than the Jets, and my Super Bowl pick should be riding high after pulling out a tough one against the Vikings.

D – Jets. They have been on the rise while the banged up Packers have had some issues lately.

Miami Dolphins (3-3) @ Cincinnati Bengals (2-4)

Z – Miami. Bengals offense is still really rough and it won’t get better against the Dolphins.

D – Miami. Perfect on the road so far, I see them maintaining that.

Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4) @ Dallas Cowboys (1-5)

Z – Cowboys. Their season might be over, but they are still a tough team and I think their defense wins this one for them.

D – Jacksonville. No Romo, No Chance.

Tennessee Titans (5-2) @ San Diego Chargers (2-5)

Z – Titans. It’s hard to pick against them right now, after the way their offense exploded last week.

D – Tennessee. The Titans are just better on the road than the Chargers are at home.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2) @ Arizona Cardinals (3-3)

Z – Bucs. Freeman is looking really good, better each week, and the Cardinals really aren’t going anywhere.

D – Tampa Bay. I believe that Josh Freeman can and will lead Tampa past a highly overachieving 3-3 Cardinals.

Minnesota Vikings (2-4) @ New England Patriots (5-1)

Z – Patriots. Even if Favre plays, Brady and the Pats are looking good.

D – New England. With a hobbled Favre, or a healthy Tavaris Jackson, the Vikes can’t contend with the Pats.

Seattle Seahawks (4-2) @ Oakland Raiders (3-$)

Z – Seahawks. Carrol’s bunch is surprising and I think the Raiders can’t string together games like last week’s.

D – Oakland. After that huge blowout win last week, I have a feeling the Raiders could ride that wave all the way to .500.

Pittsburgh Pirates (5-1) @ New Orleans Saints (4-3)

Z – Saints. They can’t afford to lose 2 in a row, and need to avenge the loss to the Browns.

D – Pittsburgh. By the transitive property it’s kind of an easy call. Steelers beat the Browns, who beat the Saints. And Brees seems to be struggling right now.

Houston Texans (4-2) @ Indianapolis Colts (4-2)

Z – Colts. I think the AFC South will be decided here in week 8, whoever wins this rematch of Week 1’s surprise will win the division, and that will be Indy.

D – Indianapolis. They need redemption. I think they split the season series, home win for home win.
